In an interview, Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed Manisha wasn't his first choice for Khamoshi. He shared that Madhuri Dixit and Kajol were also approached. However, considering it was his debut, they chose to turn it down after making him wait for a couple of months.
The filmmaker further shared that without Salman's support, the film wouldn't have been made. "Khamoshi couldn't have been made without Salman's support," he shared.
Khamoshi is hailed as the filmmaker's best work. The music was composed by veterans like Jatin Pandit, Lalit Pandit and Babloo Chakravorty. Singers like Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and Hariharan united to create a musical treat. Helen joined the film through Salman. She played Manisha's grandmother and Nana Patekar's mother in the musical.
After Khamoshi, the filmmaker worked with Salman in the blockbuster film, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. The duo is yet to reunite and fans are eagerly waiting for them to announce their next collaboration.
