Dork alert: Celina Jaitly skiing at St Moritz

While skiing on the slopes of St Moritz, Jaitly takes a fall

Everyone knows of Celina Jaitly's New Year Eve sojourn in London and the subsequent tragic losses of her cousin brother and her grand-aunt but what few know is that before her London show, she sneaked off for a brief holiday to St Moritzu00a0one of the oldest and one of the most famous winter resorts in the world. It is known as a skiing, hiking and toboganning hotspot.

Laughing about her skiing experience, Celina says, "The first day at St Moritz was disastrous; though the second day was better.

I hadn't realised that my skiing skills had become rusty so the first day when I went down a slope instead of dashing against a handsome ski instructor, I crashed into a dog! He was a big dog who had accompanied one of the skiers.

The dog escaped unharmed but I landed on my butt! I was mortified especially when a few children came and picked me up. People think I am sexy and glamorous but actually I am a dork in real life."

Fortunately, Celina drowned her sorrows by gorging on great food and wine. She says, "I caught up with friends and gorged on Raclette cheese - a semi-firm, salted cheese made from cow's milk.

In Valais, raclette is typically eaten with tea, other warm beverages or with a special type of white wine called Fendant, made from the Chasselas grape.

Drinking water with cheese is said to interfere with the digestion of the cheese by causing the cheese to stick to your intestines. But it's great to have during extremely cold winters. "
