Javed Ali
Although Javed Ali rendered only one track, the soulful Saanson Ke (Raees), in 2017, he promises multiple Bollywood offerings in 2018. However, the singer is looking forward to wrapping up work on his singles so that he can focus on a project that's dear to his heart.
"I want to create a ghazal album and present them in a contemporary way, with new sounds and styles," says Ali, adding, "The popularity of ghazals has diminished because film music has charmed us to a great extent, overshadowing the genre. Once I wrap up work on my upcoming singles, I will start working on this record."
The singer recently paid tribute to legends like Talat Mahmood, Mehdi Hassan, Ghulam Ali, Farida Khanum and Jagjit Singh at a concert, Phir Wohi Sham, at the NCPA. Given that Ali has trained under Ghulam Ali, performing for him was an emotional experience. "His music inspired me to enter the industry," he says.
