Gadar 2
Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's 'Gadar 2' has taken the box office by storm. The film which was released on August 11 is a sequel to the superhit film 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' which was released in 2001. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film brought back the original cast including Utkarsh Sharma who played the son of Tara Singh and Sakina in the first part. Gadar 2's historic run at the box office has also been hailed by members of the industry. On Thursday night, actor Anupam Kher took to his Twitter handle to praise the film.
Kher watched the film at Mumbai popular single screen theatre 'Gaiety Galaxy'. He revealed that he visited the theatre for the first time after the premiere of his film 'Hum' in 1991. "Just watched #Gadar2 in Gaiety/Galaxy theatre in Bandra. Last time I went to this single screen theatre was for the premiere of my movie #Hum. #Gadar2 is a tsunami of emotions felt not only by the actors on screen but also by the audiences in the theatre. It takes you on a roller coaster ride of what it means to be a proud Indian. In fact it celebrates the multi culture/ multi religion facet of our country. It is cathartic. Crowds scream their guts out at every dialogue," he wrote.
Praising the team behind the film, the actor further wrote, "@iamsunnydeol is not an actor anymore. He is cult in himself. He is on fire. And you feel the heat in your soul. @iutkarsharma is fantastic with great promise. @manishwadhwa as Pak general is superb. Thank you @Anilsharma_dir for taking me on this raw joyride in a cinema hall. Jai Ho!"
