It was announced last year, that the popular television series 'Shaktimaan' would be adapted for the big screen into a superhero trilogy. Ever since the announcement was made by Sony Pictures last year there has been rumours around the casting of the film. One of the rumours that has stuck for long is Ranveer Singh's casting as title character. It was also rumoured that the film is set to be directed by Basil Joseph who directed the Malayalam superhero film 'Minnal Murali'. And now it seems like Joseph's frequent collaborator and Malayalam superstar Tovino Thomas has confirmed the same.
Tovino Thomas went live on Instagram recently after his film '2018' was announced as India's official entry for the Oscars. The actor who is currently in Amsterdam came live to celebrate the news with his followers and share the joy. Ranveer Singh crashed the Live by dropping in comments praising the 'Thalumala' star. "Love from Mumbai," came the first comment from Ranveer. Reacting to it, an eleated Tovino thanked him and praised him back. He also said that he was talking to Basil Jospeh about how he will have agood time working with him. While teh actor did not mention the name of the film, it was a major hint from his side on Basil Joseph and Ranveer's collaboration.
Meanwhile, Ranveer further commented, "Who here wants Tovino x Ranveer?' and "Wish I can perform alongside you someday. Would be amazing!". Ranveer also called Tovino the pride of Indian performing fraternity.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently basking in the success of his recently released film 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' where he played the role of flamboyant, rich Delhi boy Rocky Randhawa who falls in love with the sophisticated journalist Rani Chatterjee. The wholesome family drama won the hearts of audience and critics. Recently, the actor was announced as the new face of the Don franchise directed by Farhan Akhtar.

Tovino, on the other hand, was last seen in the film '2018'. The Malayalam film directed by Jude Anthany Joseph chronicled a story of hope and humanity when the state of Kerala faced devastating floods in 2018. The film is India's official entry for Oscars 2024. The actor will next be seen in the film 'ARM'.
