Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Kapoor and Aaman Devgn
mid-day was the first to report that Ajay Devgn's nephew Aaman Devgn was prepping to make his acting debut (Ajay to launch nephew next, July 5, 2022). While the youngster will face the camera in the coming months, it looks like there has been some change behind the scenes. Not Ajay, but Abhishek Kapoor will be directing Aaman's Bollywood debut. The director, who also launched Sushant Singh Rajput with Kai Po Che, will be helming the action adventure produced by Pragya Kapoor and Ronnie Screwvala. Ajay will continue to be associated with the film as an actor. The two-hero subject demands a senior actor along with the debutant. Gattu has not only sketched a hatke character for the Drishyam 2 actor, but has also designed a special look for him. Filming is slated to begin later this year, after Ajay wraps up Rohit Shetty's Singham Again.
Forget KGF and Pushpa already. There is an industry called Kollywood, bastardised for Kodambakkam, smack in the middle of Madras, plus the "wood" from Holly. And a box-office clash for the ages is happening there, which shouldn't have happened. Conventional wisdom says that Ajith collects the biggest opening inside the state, while Vijay has greater reach beyond Tamil Nadu. Now, though, both want to find out where each stands, with Thunivu and Varisu respectively. This is their first face-off release in eight long years. The thing is, from their trailers, they have both chosen the wrong vehicles. Either way, be on standby, we'll know who won by the time we hit the stands next week, and we will keep you posted.

Never mind that Thank God didn't fire up the box-office last Diwali, but Sidharth Malhotra and director Indra Kumar are set to collaborate again. We hear the filmmaker had discussed the subject with the actor while they were filming their social comedy, and the latter had given a verbal nod to the project. Sources tell us that Kumar and Sid have revived talks over the yet-untitled rom com. Though the subject requires an ensemble cast, Sid will play the leading man. An announcement is expected after things are finalised.
Even with a busy shoot schedule, Shah Rukh Khan never forgets to support causes through his Meer Foundation. The foundation recently donated an undisclosed amount to the family of Delhi girl, Anjali Singh. The 20-year-old lost her life in a heinous crime that took place in Kanjhawala area of the capital. Anjali was the sole breadwinner of her family comprising her mother and siblings. The foundation's aid is to help the mother with her health issues and provide adequate financial relief to Anjali's siblings. Named after SRK's father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, the foundation works towards empowering women and supporting children.

Deepika Padukone's song Besharam rang from Pathaan continues to make headlines. While the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the leading lady's saffron swimsuit, the makers are apparently contemplating editing the racy track for Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. Reportedly, a team from Yash Raj Films had a meeting with Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh chief minister, and explained that they never intended to hurt any religious sentiments by picking a saffron-coloured swimsuit for Deepika.
