Ajay Devgn
Five years after the release of Raid, the film's makers kicked off the sequel yesterday. Ajay Devgn returns as IRS (Indian Revenue Services) officer Amay Patnaik, retelling yet another income tax raid story that made headlines in the past. The announcment of Raj Kumar Gupta's directorial venture was made with a poster declaring, âAmay Patnaik is back', but featured only the actor's feet. We hear Ajay will be sporting a different look in the thriller this time around. Details about the cast aren't known at this point, but we hear that filming commenced yesterday in Mumbai with Ravi Teja giving the muhurat shot. The shoot is set to be in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. The makers also revealed that the film will arrive in cinemas on November 15 this year, just after Diwali.
Deepika Padukone turned 38 on Friday. Instead of posting on social media, actor-husband Ranveer Singh marked her birthday by taking her out for a quiet dinner at a fine-dining restaurant in the city. The star couple did not wait to pose for the paparazzi after the low-key celebrations either, though Ranveer did make gestures at them while leaving. Like a gentleman, he also opened the car door for Deepika before they zoomed off.

Rashmika Mandanna is currently working on Pushpa 2: The Rule with Allu Arjun. The makers of her last outing, Animal, were celebrating the film's mammoth success in Mumbai last night. Considering she is the leading lady of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial venture, the actor couldn't miss the team's revelry. So, she sought a day off from Pushpa 2 director Sukumar to dash to Mumbai for the big bash. After a night of partying, Rashmika flew back to Hyderabad and reported for her shoot this morning. The much anticipated sequel, which features Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, and Sunil in pivotal parts, is slated to release this year on Independence Day. Rashmika also has Rahul Ravindran's The Girlfriend with Dheekshith Shetty.
Rumours have been rife about Karan Johar teaming up with Shah Rukh Khan again. The last time the filmmaker and the actor collaborated was in My Name Is Khan (2010). If that's not enough, there are also reports of Tiger Shroff teaming up with Janhvi Kapoor for a film titled Deadly, with Varun Dhawan being approached to play the antagonist. KJo clarified the rumours in a social media post, saying, "Every morning I wake up to news that is not officially confirmed by Dharma Productions. I would request members of the media to please not conjecture about a franchise or the beginning of one. We will give details when the time and plans are formulated and fructified. We are humbled by the excitement shown in our future films, but would love to have accuracy instead of speculation." Point noted.
