It's a festive mood across India as people celebrate Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Lohri, and Bihu. While they are all harvest festivals, different regions celebrate in their way. On the auspicious day, celebrities have been extending wishes to their followers and fans through social media.
Actress Shilpa Shetty took to her Instagram feed to share a sweet video of her wishing all on Makar Sankranti 2024. Sharing a video where she speaks in Marathi, the actress wrote, "May the transition of the Sun and the start of this New Year bring lots of warmth, positivity, and âsweet' success into our lives. Wishing everyone celebrating a very Happy Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Magh Bihu, Maghi, Pedda Panduga, Uttarayan, Sakraat, Boghi!"

Actress Hema Malini also took to her X handle to wish everyone well. "Today is dedicated to the Sun, the Sun God and corresponds to Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Uttarayan - the harvest festival celebrated under many regional names throughout India. Happy Makar Sankranti! Happy Pongal! May all your houses overflow with happiness and prosperity always," she wrote on X.
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal wrote, "May this auspicious day bring warmth, prosperity, and a harvest of good fortune to your lives. Wishing you all a happy Makar Sankranti and Pongal!"
Actor Hrithik Roshan wrote, "Wishing all you beautiful people a very Happy Makar Sankranti, joyful Uttarayan & a prosperous Pongal". The actor also dropped the trailer of his upcoming film, Fighter, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti 2024.
