Born on May 7, 1993, into a Parsi family, Amyra Dastur has been raised in Mumbai. She went to Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai and later completed her schooling at Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai. Amyra studied Arts at H.R College, Mumbai.

Amyra Dastur is a huge fitness fanatic and makes sure to work out for at least an hour every day, be it yoga or some weight training exercises.

Amyra Dastur loves to write about her thoughts and experiences with people and places. Writing fiction is also her passion. One day, Amyra plans to turn her stories into scripts.

Amyra Dastur's father Gulzar Dastur is a surgeon and director of Mumbai's popular and one of the oldest hospitals - Bhatia Hospital, while her mother Delna Dastur is an advertising professional. Amyra's sibling Jehangir Dastur is into the Hotel industry.

Amyra's mother is her inspiration! "My mom quit her job to take care of me. She is one of the strongest women I know. She's taken care of me and my brother and dealt with me a lot emotionally. She went back to work and started her own successful business after 21 years because both my brother and I started working," she had said in an interview with mid-day.

Amyra Dastur has been independent since a very young age. She started her career at the age of 16 as a model. She has been featured in television commercials.

"I do consider myself a feminist. I've been independent since the age of 16 and I believe that if women want to grow and reach higher levels, we will have to not only support one another but also really help each other," Amyra said in a statement.

Amyra made her acting debut in Bollywood with Issaq in 2013 (starring Prateik Babbar) and was later seen in Hindi films like Mr. X (starring Emraan Hashmi), Kaalakaandi (starring Saif Ali Khan) and Kung Fu Yoga (starring Jackie Chan, Sonu Sood and Disha Patani), which was also dubbed in Mandarin and English. 

In recent years, she featured in the Netflix film Rajma Chawal, followed by three releases in 2019 - Made in China, Judgementall Hai Kya, both starring Rajkummar Rao and Prassthanam. Amyra Dastur has also featured in Tamil and Telugu movies like Anegan, Manasuku Nachindi and Raja Gadu. The actress will be seen in web series Dongri To Dubai, after her stint in Tandav and The Trip 2.
