Do you know the love stories of these famous couples?

Boney Kapoor and Sridevi: Although Boney was married to Mona Shourie Kapoor, he got attracted to Sridevi. The two met for the first time on the sets of 'Mr India', and Boney, who was producing the film, has admitted that it was love at first sight for him. Mona and Boney actually offered Sridevi a place to stay in their own house. They eventually fell in love and Boney Kapoor married Sridevi in 1996, the year he divorced his first wife, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor's mother. With Sridevi, Boney has two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan: The story goes that Big B and Jaya Bhaduri first met each other at Pune Film Institute during the early 70s. Jaya was a student at the institute. One day, filmmaker K. Abbas arrived at the institute with a group of actors - one of them was a tall and thin young man dressed in a kurta and trousers, and wearing chappals. Jaya is said to have fallen for Amitabh's simplicity instantly. As destiny would have it they met again on the sets of Guddi, in which Big B made a guest appearance, and love blossomed further. The couple tied the knot on June 3, 1973, roughly a month after the release of their film Zanjeer.

Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh: A bit difficult to believe but Neetu was said to be only 14 when she began dating Chintu. Apparently, while working on their first film together, Zehrila Insaan, Rishi troubled Neetu a lot. He would spread kajal on her face, after she had completed her makeup. Expectedly, Neetu would get irritated, but over time this very prankster stole her heart.

Dharmendra and Hema Malini: As Hema has revealed numerous times, she just couldn't stop herself from staying away from Dharmendra. In an interview once, Hema candidly revealed that it was during the shooting of the song 'Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana' that she first fell in love with the 'He-Man' of Bollywood. She found his dance steps in the crazy song 'cute'.

Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu: In an interview, Saira Banu revealed that she fell in love with Kumar's on-screen aura when she was just 12-years-old. Little did she know that she would go on to become the most important person in Kumar's life. It was Banu's mother Naseem who brought the two closer. Once Kumar and Banu became friends, love blossomed, and the thespian eventually proposed to the love of his life.

Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt: Nargis had been hurt by Raj Kapoor's alleged indifferent attitude towards her, and is said to have even contemplated suicide. It was in Dutt that she found her anchor. They famously fell in love during the 'fire' sequence in 'Mother India'. But since the film was still under production, they decided to keep their affair under wraps. They hardly spoke to anybody about their relationship, and the affair was kept such a secret that even their closest friends were unaware of what was brewing. They mostly met in the night or exchanged letters in which they referred to each other as 'Pia' and 'Hey There'.

Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia: This had all the makings of a fairytale love story, but ended up being a doomed one. Dimple was said to be dating Rishi before falling head over heels for Kaka. Gossip has it that after Khanna proposed to Dimple, he asked her to throw the ring Rishi had gifted her into the sea, as proof of her loyalty.

Ajay Devgn and Kajol: Opposites attract! This phrase fits Ajay and Kajol perfectly. There was wide scrutiny about their relationship since Ajay is an introvert and Kajol exactly the opposite. Their love story is also different. Ajay once revealed that while they were very much in love during their dating days, they hardly said 'I love you' to each other, and even a formal proposal was never made. As Ajay put it, 'We just grew with each other, and marriage was imminent though it was never discussed.'

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor: Stories of the Saif-Kareena linkup began while the two were shooting for Yashraj Films 'Tashan' in Ladakh and Rajasthan. Although Saif has received his share of criticism for leaving his kids and family, he maintained that he is genuinely in love with Kareena. On the other hand, Kareena, who has been quizzed in the media more than once about her relationship with Saif, always reiterated that destiny brought them together, and that, for her, Saif is the best.

Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora: Another unconventional couple who aren't together anymore. Arbaaz and Malaika met for the first time back in the early 90s when they were shooting for a commercial, which was extremely bold for its time and led to plenty of controversies. The ad was eventually banned, but one good thing did come out of it. Arbaaz and Malaika had found their soulmates in each other.

John Abraham and Bipasha Basu: Both are now happily married to their respective life partners, but over a decade back they were the most-talked-about couple in Bollywood. John and Bips are said to have fallen in love while shooting for 'Jism'. The movie had many intimate scenes between the two, and the attraction translated into love off-screen as well.

Dilip Kumar and Madhubala: Conventionally, the man is expected to propose. But many may not be aware that it was Madhubala who actually proposed to Kumar. So enamoured was she by the superstar that during the shooting of 'Tarana', the 18-year-old Madhubala sent a note written in Urdu along with a red rose to Kumar. The letter was delivered by Madhubala's hairdresser to the actor and stated that if he loved her, he should accept the rose. An amused and impressed Kumar couldn't say no!

Dev Anand and Suraiya: They were deeply and madly in love, but their relationship fell prey to religious differences. Anand, in his biography, had revealed that he had purchased one of the costliest rings available for their engagement. But Suraiya's grandmother was dead against the relationship and threatened that she would kill herself if Suraiya married Anand. In the end, it was the relationship that met a dead end.

Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman: They met each other in Hyderabad when he was looking for a fresh face for his film. While working with her in Pyaasa, he found that he had fallen in love with her. According to reports, Guru Dutt never wanted to leave his wife Geeta Dutt and wanted both ladies in his life! Soon, Geeta realised the reason behind her husband's miserable condition and decided to walk out of the marriage.

Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai: This love story deserves a movie, if not a novel. Salman and Ash hit it off during Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999). This relationship, however, did not have a happy ending.

Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon: This was one of the most sizzling B-Town affairs of the 90s. Akki and Ravs started seeing each other during 'Mohra', apparently. It is said that they secretly got engaged as well. However, in 1996, gossip about the alleged link-up between Akshay and Rekha started doing the rounds. There were rumours of some other liaisons as well following which Raveena decided she had had enough.

Raj Kapoor and Nargis: They worked together in 16 films, and although the showman was married, Nargis couldn't stop falling in love with her frequent co-star. Raj, however, did not want to end his marriage. Still determined to be with Raj, Nargis is even said to have met Morarji Desai, who had worked on the Hindu marriage laws, to see if he would be able to help her. The meeting ended up being fruitless though and over time the romance became totally one-sided with Kapoor allegedly not reciprocating Nargis' feelings.
