Samantha Ruth Prabhu
Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to social media on Friday to share devastating and heartbreaking news. The Citadel star lost her father Joseph Prabhu. She took to her Instagram stories and wrote, "Until we meet again dad" along with a red broken heart emoji. The actress did not share further details about the same.
On Thursday night, Samantha was spotted in Mumbai for the success party of her recently released show 'Citadel: Honey Bunny'. The actress also posted a picture from the night where she was posing with the team of Citadel.
A while ago, Samantha had opened up about her relationship with her father and her need to seek his validation. "All my life growing up, I had to fight for validation. My father was kind of like⦠I think most Indian parents are like that. They think they're protecting you⦠He actually told me, âYou're not that smart. This is just the standard of Indian education. That's why even you can get a first rank.' When you say that to a child, I really believed for the longest time that I'm not smart and not good enough," he said in an interview in Galatta India.
In 2022, Joseph Prabhu had shared pictures from Samantha and Naga Chaitanya's wedding. It was a year since the two had officially announced their separation bringing their four-year marriage to an end. In the throwback pictures, Samantha was dressed in a white gown, while Chaitanya wore a black tuxedo. The former couple can be seen posing with their family and guests in the throwbacks. In his caption, Samantha Ruth Prabhu's father wrote, "Long long ago, there was a story. And it doesn't exist anymore! So, let's start a new story. And a new chapter!"
In the comment section, Joseph reacted to all the fan messages and wrote, "Thanks for all your feelings. Yes, I sat down for a long time to overcome emotions. Life is too short to sit down with feelings and get bogged down."
Samantha is currently one of the most sought-after actresses not only in Tamil and Telugu language films but across the country. She has featured in two web series so far- The Family Man season 2 and Citadel: Honey Bunny. Both were directed by Raj and DK.
