Mid-Day Online met up with her for an exclusive interview on the occasion of Diwali and Dhanteras.
Rishina, heartiest wishes for Diwali 2022. What is your Diwali story (plans) for this year?
Diwali is the favourite time of year for our family. We will be celebrating it as a family and have some get-togethers. Post that, we will have the traditional puja. We will light some diyas around the house and get ready for our family dinner.
One of the most exciting things about Diwali are the lovely gifts. Do you believe in gifting or getting gifts during Diwali festival?
I love gifting diyas and fragrant candles with crystals on Diwali to my friends for their well-being and prosperity. Diwali is one of my favourite festivals. I love dressing up and lighting up the house and decorating it with flowers and celebrating it to the fullest with the family (smiles).

What does Diwali/ Deepawali mean to you and also do you burst firecrackers during the festival?
I strongly believe that the environment needs to be protected. Hence, we refrain from bursting crackers, which gives rise to smoke and sound pollution. We also have pets at home. That's why it's a strict no-no to smoke and sound. But we all love lighting diyas.
What new and exciting stuff have you planned for âDeepavali 2022'?
Diwali is when Lord Rama came back to Ayodhya after winning a battle against Ravan. So, it is a fight won by the good over evil. Likewise, one should also always kill our inner demons and get together again to start fresh during this time by letting go of the bad taking in the good. One needs to start believing in the good again. And, as far as the new and exciting stuff that I have you planned for Diwali this year is that, right after Diwali, we are taking a trip to Chokhi Dhani in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan with my family. So, I am looking forward to this Diwali season.
What is your message to Mid-Day readers for Diwali and Dhanteras?
Stay safe and don't burst crackers. Spread love, light and positivity.
