Dr Yogesh Bhadra Bhanushali, who allegedly deceived multiple women by promising marriage
Another woman has filed a rape case against Dr Yogesh Bhadra Bhanushali, who allegedly deceived two women by promising marriage in writing over the last three years. In their pursuit of securing bail, the accused, in collusion with his relatives, employs a tactic of lulling the women into a false sense of security.
His relatives gain the trust of the victims by promising marriage and subsequently submitting affidavits to the court affirming their intention to marry. This strategy often results in the accused being granted bail. Notably, two survivors have submitted such affidavits in the past, yet none of them ended up marrying him.
Currently, he is incarcerated, as Malvani police arrested him following the registration of two rape cases last month.
Four rape cases have now been registered against the accused doctor at the Malvani police station within the past three years. Additionally, one molestation case was filed at the Shivaji Nagar police station, where he molested a 25-year-old female doctor at Jambu Centre during the pandemic in 2020.

The fourth survivor met the accused at a club this year, and they exchanged phone numbers, and met on Valentine's Day at his home in Malvani, where he introduced her to his family.
The survivor explained, "The accused's aunt assured me she would help with the marriage because I belong to a different religion. He borrowed money from me multiple times, citing his needs and problems. Not only that, but he also made me take a loan, purchase a car in my name, and buy a music system. He took my jewellery and swindled me out of approximately Rs 5 lakh."
She further revealed that whenever she asked him to return the money, he would rape her. When she pressed him for marriage, he refused. When she threatened to report the situation to the police and confided in his aunt, the aunt responded that she could complain wherever she wanted, insinuating that nothing would come of it.
She added, "Whenever other women called him, I inquired about the calls, and he would lie, saying it was his sister or another close relative. Today, I have learned that not only he but also his family members were complicit in his crimes, and they should be held accountable."
Advocate Rafique Gori said, "The accused perpetrates significant harm on young women under the guise of marriage. To secure his release from jail, the accused's family members manipulate the girls into becoming hostile and secure his bail by deceitfully promising to withdraw the case and proceed with the marriage."
In the most recent rape case filed last month, the survivor was similarly induced to submit an affidavit in court, under the false pretext of marriage with the accused. This led to the court re-arresting him in connection with the rape case on October 3.
Considering the registration of this fourth rape case, it is evident that the accused's relatives may attempt to deceive this new survivor as well.
An officer from Malvani police station said, "The accused doctor is in our custody in the second rape case that was filed on October 3, and one more rape including a cheating case has been filed yesterday by another victim. Investigation is underway."
