Karishma Dhawan has unfailingly tied a rakhi to Lord Ganesh at her Kemps Corner home for the last 32 years.

This year, she was almost in tears when her doctor advised her not to travel from her home in Dubai to Mumbai for Ganeshotsav because of swine flu. But her family will ensure she is part of the celebrations through a web camera.

"I had tears in my eyes when I tied a rakhi to Ganpati on Karishma's behalf. She has not missed a single Ganesh Chaturthi at home since birth. That's when we decided to show her the aarti and puja on a web camera. My daughter was thrilled," said an emotional Komal Dadlani, Karishma's mother.

Long wait

However, Karishma has not yet managed to get a glimpse of the Ganesh idol at home. The laptop at the Dadlani home broke down when they tried to get in touch with Karishma.

But now the problem has been solved and she can finally see the idol when her father arrives in the city today.

"I hope the computer does not act funny again, else I will be heartbroken. I cannot think of celebrating Ganeshotsav without my daughter," said Komal.

Filmy chakkar

Karishma Dhawan has been residing in Dubai with her husband for the last six years.

Her father Gope Dadlani has produced a film called Do Ladkiyan that featured Sanjeev Kumar (pictured) and Mala Sinha.

His second movie could not be completed because actor Balraj Sahani died during the making of
the film.
