Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Lata Mangeshkar to be honoured

The Pazhassi Raja charitable trust, a well-known socio-cultural organisation based in Kerala founded to promote and create awareness and instill a sense of patriotism among the younger generation, has decided to honour India's nightingale Lata Mangeshkar, Art of Living guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and noted media tycoon Ramoji Rao among others with the Pazhassi Puraskaram


The Pazhassi Raja charitable trust, a well-known socio-cultural organisation based in Kerala founded to promote and create awareness and instill a sense of patriotism among the younger generation, has decided to honour India's nightingale Lata Mangeshkar, Art of Living guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and noted media tycoon Ramoji Rao among others with the Pazhassi Puraskaram.

Every year, the trust commemorates the death anniversary of Pazhassi Raja, the first Indian king to revolt against the British rulers by awarding notable Indians from different walks of life.

Other recipients of the award are Dr KP Hussain, Yogendra Mohan Gupta and Dr B Ravi Pillai.

The award function-cum-cultural event has been organised at the YB Chavan Hall, Nariman Point on August 25 at 7 pm where the governor of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayanan will hand out the awards.

Public Works Department Minister Chhagan Bhujbal will also be present at the function along with MLA Annie Shekhar.

Other than the award, the trust has conducted educational and health programmes in Kerala.
