A Govinda enthusiast since childhood, Ramu's main artery in the right hand was ruptured after Arjun fell on him from the fifth level of the pyramid. "I fell on him injuring his hand.
It was bleeding profusely. We immediately rushed him to St George Hospital from where we were referred to KEM hospital," said Arjun, sitting on a wheelchair after getting his fractured leg plastered.
About the degree of Ramu's injuries, a doctor from KEM said Arjun's fall on Ramu caused his elbow to dislocate, rupturing the main artery in his hand.
He added that if he wasn't brought on time for the treatment, he would have succumbed to excessive bleeding.
Dr Pradeep Bhosle, head of the orthopaedic department at KEM hospital, said, "His artery has been ruptured and there has been substantial blood loss.
We have taken him for an operation and our team of doctors are trying to reconstruct his artery."
He added, "Ramu might have to lose his hand if the reconstruction fails. This is a very rare kind of injury and we might have to amputate his hand below the elbow if the operation is not successful."
Meanwhile, even though Arjun doesn't understand the complexities of the surgery, he had just one thing to say, "I will not go home till Ramu is out of danger.
We both left home together in the morning and we will go home together."
