Central Railway, on Tuesday, announced that it will be introducing 10 more air-conditioned (AC) local train services on the main line starting from November 6, 2023. The additional services will ply instead of the regular services.
These new services will take the total number of daily AC local services to 66 while the total count of suburban services within the Mumbai division shall remain at 1810. The AC local services are scheduled to operate from Monday to Saturday, with no services on Sundays or nominated holidays.
"Central Railway will introduce 10 more AC local services by replacing the following non-AC services with effect from 6.11.2023. With this, the total number of AC local services will increase to 66 daily. The total number of suburban services on Central Railway Mumbai Division will remain at 1810. Out of these 10 services, there will be one in the morning peak and one in the evening peak hours. These AC locals will run from Monday to Saturday and will not run on Sundays and nominated holidays," the CR said in its media statement.
The new services are designed to cater to both morning and evening peak hours, offering commuters more flexibility in their travel options.
