The fire started around 4:20 pm at the scrap shop located near the Equinox building, opposite the scrap market in Kurla West

According to a fire brigade official, the blaze has been classified as a level 2 (major) fire

The firefighters rushed to the spot and began working to contain the fire, which is was confined to the scrap shop

In response to the emergency, a large firefighting team, including eight fire engines, water tankers, and other support vehicles, was deployed to the scene to manage the situation

The officials suspect that the presence of scrap materials in the shop has likely contributed to the rapid spread of the fire

The civic officials cordoned off the area to prevent any further risks

Efforts were made to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring structures, and to ensure the safety of nearby residents and businesses
