Firefighters reach the spot to douse the blaze, which was reported at 11.19 am on Saturday
According to reports, the fire affected at least five–shop shops within the furniture market
The Mumbai Fire Brigade initially declared the blaze as Level-1 at 11.18 am but upgraded it to Level-2 by 11.24 am owing to the escalating situation. It was further updated to Level-3
A significant response team has been deployed to manage the blaze. The firefighting units present at the site include eight fire engines, five jumbo tankers (JT), three advanced water tankers (AWTT), and a Water Quick Response Vehicle (WQRV), Quick Response Vehicle (QRV), firefighting robo unit and Breathing Apparatus (BA) van
Additionally, senior personnel, including one Divisional Fire Officer (DFO), one Additional Divisional Fire Officer (ADFO), three Senior Station Officers (Sr. SO), and three Station Officers (SO), reached the scene to oversee the dousing operation
The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained
Several shopkeepers rushed their goods out of their galas (shops) as soon as they learned about the fire

The blaze had been confined to five-six galas containing wooden furniture, plastic materials, scrap, thermocol, and plywood on the ground floor of the market, covering an area of approximately 2000x2000 square meters, officials told ANI
