Over the past few years, incidents involving stray dogs have been on the rise, and the safety of Mumbaikars is now under threat. One shocking incident happened recently when a child was severely injured by a pitbull after it was abandoned at Mahim beach. The person responsible vanished, leaving the dog behind. Satej Shide, a photographer from Mid-Day, who intervened in the situation, was himself injured in the process.
