Police Sub-inspector P P Kolte of the Airport police station said, "We have booked the person under Sections 504 , 506 and 170 of the Indian Penal Code."
Daundkar said, " My cousin Sambhaji visited our residence on Sunday afternoon. He had brought along another person with him, who stepped out of a car (MH10 E 7562) that had a logo of Government of India, and called us outside."
He said there was an ongoing land dispute between Sambhaji and his family. "The person, who had accompanied Sambhaji, started abusing us the moment he stepped out of the car.
He later identified himself as Deputy Collector Sarjerao Mohite and told me to vacate the land, and hand it over to Sambhaji as soon as possible," Daundkar said. "He told us that several notices were issued to us in this case, and threatened the entire family with dire consequences if we failed to vacate the plot."
Daundkar said he felt something was amiss and asked Mohite for his identity card. "Mohite was stunned and gave vague answers for not having it. He immediately got into the car and fled the spot with Sambhaji," Daundkar said.
