While Yeddyurappa announced that National Military Memorial would not be built at the Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park, no one knows who will undo damage already done to the park
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa responded to the widespread public opposition to the idea of a National Military Memorial in the Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park by declaring in the Legislative Council yesterday that the memorial would be shifted elsewhere. However, no one knows who will undo the damage done to the park to make place for the memorial.
The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) that was working on the memorial has a new commissioner in Bharat Lal Meena, who replaced Siddiah yesterday. Siddiah is now the commissioner of the BBMP.
Rajeev Chandrashekar said it was the government that had thought of building the memorial and then decided to move it elsewhere. |
