The bodies of six labourers who died in yesterday's Somnath building collapse, which were sent to the Sassoon Hospital for post-mortem, remained unclaimed at the time of going to press. Medical Superintendent of Sassoon Hospital Dr D G Kulkarni confirmed the news.
Of the six deceased, three were identified as Bharat Shinde, Rajaram Khade and Arjun Gopale. Some of the injured were admitted to Bharati Hospital and Pawar Hospital in Dhanakawdi. They were identified as Somnath Mali, Samadhan Gopal, Namrata Kamble, Sayali Kamble and Deepali Devkate.
"I was working alongside my fellow labourers when the columns of the parking area collapsed," Somnath Mali said.
Firemen pulled out Mali (22) from under the rubble, two hours after the incident. "After I was pulled out by the firemen, I just had a glass of water. I do not remember anything that has happened," said a shocked Mali. He was rushed to Bharati Hospital and was kept under observation. Doctors said Mali's injuries were not major and he sustained minor injuries to his hands.u00a0
