What to expect this year?
Earlier, the festival was restricted only to members of different institutions associated with the festival, this year it is open to all. Passes will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Veteran actor Zul Velani is the chief guest and will inaugurate the festival.
For the last 13 years, the European Festival has been showcasing films from various genres and countries. Some of the genres which are included this year are romance, comedy, drama and history. Instead of concentrating on a particular topic, this year they have tried to cover various issues.
What's On recommends:
Could this be Love?
The film is about a 43-year old rich, divorced industrialist who is in love with a 38 year-old ceramist. The industrialist Lucas hires a detective to find why Elsa, the lady he is attracted to, is still single.
Sophie Scholl The Last days
The story is based in 1943, when the Germans lost the battle for Stalingrad. It portrays the trials of Sophie and her brother, who were arrested by Hitler's army while distributing anti-Hitler flyers.u00a0
Totally Married
A couple in their mid-thirties with a child, are in the seventh difficult year of their marriage. The sudden departure of their household maid sets off an explosive situation and then comes Irina, a 23-year old hooker to set things right.
Relatives
