In the city since the past two days for a shoot, Anaspure and the others entered the closed-door elevator of the four-storey guesthouse and pressed the button for the ground floor. As soon as the elevator reached the ground floor, its door got locked.
For 15 minutes the entire film crew tried to rescue the group trapped in the elevator, after which the fire brigade was called. The fire brigade reached the spot and released the trapped actors in 15 minutes.
Anaspure said although there was some panic, it was not a very serious incident. He was full of appreciation for the firemen for their prompt response. "If they (fire brigade) had not come in time, then we would have become restless in the crammed elevator," he said.
He said he and the others were fine and did not need to make a trip to the doctor. Fireman Vasand Bhilare, who headed the team of five that rescued the actors, said their first task was to make the actors relaxed as they were somewhat panicky inside the elevator.
