MiD DAY Test Drive: Week 4, Day 4

ON Day 4 of Week 4 of MiD DAY and Radio One autorickshaw campaign in association with the traffic police and the Regional Transport Office, 21 offenders were booked.

One of the drivers at Deccan Gymkhana rickshaw stand said, "We know you people and we are ready to go where you want."

The drive was carried out with PSI Parvati Gujar, constable Nandakumar Pande and Ranjit Gat at JM Road and Wakadewadi.

Constable Kiran Kadam was overcharged and told the reporters that he had to pay the return fare to a rickshaw (MH-12/CT-002) from Swargate to Shivajinagar on May 18.

Two drivers were booked at Wakadewadi area near Shivajinagar. They refused fare to nearby College of Engineering Pune (COEP).
One autorickshaw driver was caught at Om Super Market Chowk who was charging Rs 30 to go Viman Nagar from a commuter. He was asking for Rs 20 more than the actual meter reading.

Two rickshaw drivers refused fare and were not ready to go to Karve Road. One rickshaw driver asked for return fare. There are many rickshaw drivers in the area who agree to go to Yerawada or Bund Garden in the noon as they go home that time for lunch.

This is where the Pune-Mumbai highway starts and due to this, the number of buses and rickshaws in this area is more. The drivers at the stand refused fare to Vishrantwadi, Pashan and Wadia College.
