Ahead of his concert in the capital, fusion maestro and sitarist Prem Joshua says inspite of his German roots, he is very much an Indian at heart
How would you introduce your latest album?
It's a live album, which has been cut from my 2007 Europe Tour. In this seven-track album, Indian classical has been superimposed with rock, jazz, lounge and folk fusion for that young feel.
What perspective of the Indian music will the album reveal?
Earlier, I was whole-heartedly in to rock and jazz but the moment I was exposed to Indian music, I could instantly establish the spiritual connect. All my albums bring out the same connect and this album is no different.
Will your Indian connection be reflected in the music?
It's Indian music that introduced me to the world, and I can never ignore that fact even while composing tracks. I was accidentally born in Germany because I am Indian by heart.
What will be the highlight of the Friday show?
In the two-hour show, I will perform tracks from my latest album and my other popular tracks.
