Four women, who represent four generations of a family, boarded the Bangalore-Boston flight on Wednesday morning.

Bon Voyage: (From left) Ananhita Bhatia, Srilatha Batliwala and Vimala Reddy

While the youngest of the group is three years old, the oldest is eighty, but the age difference is no deterrent to the fun they plan to have on their holiday.

Vimala Reddy (80), daughter Srilatha Batliwala (57), grand daughter Anahita Bhatia (30) and great grand daughter Myra Bhatia (3) are visitingu00a0 Boston to attend a close relative's graduation ceremony. This all-girls' team organised the month-long trip by themselves, taking everyone's interests into consideration.

"We chose British Airways because we got a fabulous deal almost 30 per cent off on airfare and BA is one of the few airlines that offers flat beds, which is ideal for the elders in the group," says Srilatha. Srilatha, a research scholar, wants to explore the boroughs, while Ananhita wants to shop in London. "The easy bit is that everyone is keen on sampling different cuisine, so food will never be a problem," says Anahita. Myra who is just 3 years old, is a plane freak. Though she has been travelling from the time she was born, this will be her first trip out of country with her great grandmother.
