SHIV Sena's youth brigade Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena (BVS) yesterday created a ruckus in the city by attacking a cinema hall screening Kannada film Mahesha.

The BVS activists also blackened one of the ATM centres of Bank of Karnataka in response to the alleged attack on Bank of Maharashtra branch in Karnataka.

"The protests today was a wake up call for pro-Karnataka activists who oppose the inclusion of Belgaum in Maharashtra.

If they think they can attack Bank of Maharashtra in Karnataka, the branches of Karnataka Bank in Mharashtra will meet similar fate," BVS leader Ajay Shinde told MiD DAY.

The Maharashtra-Karnataka border row seems to have attracted both, the Sena and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.

There was a talk that an MNS leader participated in the rally of Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti on the sidelines of second winter session of Karnataka assembly being held in Belgaum, which was foiled after 150 Maharashtra Ekikaran activists were detained in Belgaum.

With BVS' violent protests in Pune, it is clear that the Sena will violently back Belgaum cause once again.
