MiD DAY was with a senior Aashlok hospital official when she called up Dr Javed at the GMR Imaging centre. We recorded the full conversation:

Official: Dr, Javed, the patient's father says that you made him sign a few documents at our hospital. I don't know what it is all about? What did you make him sign because he's asking for a copy. I don't know what it is?

Javed:u00a0 Woh toh kuch aisa nahi tha(short pause). Actually it was a consent form and there were few other things.

Official: Didn't you get that signed out there (GMR clinic)?

Javed: Yes, we did.

Official: Then why did u do it out here (in the hospital)? They are thinking that it is something related to our hospital?

Javed: Nahi nahi nahi

Official: He's asking for a copy of the form.

Javed: Okay, please send him to GMR.

Official: How many signs did u take?

Javed : Two

Official: So there were two consent forms?

Javed : Yes

Javed: Yes

Official: The patient's father is alleging that our hospital made him sign the form? I don't know when you made him sign the document? Did you make him sign the document inside our hospital?

Official: You should have at least told us that I m taking their consent? Was the consent taken by the GMR?

Official: Our hospital is facing allegations for no reason? I wasn't even aware that you were taking the consent. The patient's relatives think that the hospital authorities made him sign the consent? You please clarify and tell them that it (consent) was taken by your center and that you are willing to give them a copy of it.
