IN PHOTOS: Indian army showcases advanced artillery at exercise topchi 2025

Senior dignitaries, including student officers from the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, and the Defence Services Technical Staff Course, Pune, attended the exercise. The exercise was witnessed by Nepal Army Staff Course students, cadets from various training academies, and senior officers from the Indian Army and civil administration.
The highlight of Exercise Topchi was the live firing of state-of-the-art artillery gun systems, including the K-9 Vajra Self-Propelled (SP) Gun System and the 155mm M777 Ultra Light Howitzer (ULH). The exercise also featured the 155mm Dhanush and the 155mm FH 77B02 (Bofors), showcasing the strength of India’s artillery capabilities.
Cutting-edge technologies, including the Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher, Smerch, and Swarm Drones, were prominently displayed. Loitering munitions and advanced drone capabilities were also part of the exercise, underscoring the modernisation of the Indian Army’s weaponry.
The exercise demonstrated the integration of various firepower and surveillance assets, highlighting the Army's operational synergy. The live firing and technological displays reaffirmed the Indian Army’s preparedness to meet any operational challenge with precision and efficiency.
Exercise Topchi 2025 also emphasised the growth of indigenous defence capabilities, aligned with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The event stood as a testament to the professionalism of the Indian Army’s artillery and the country’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its self-reliance in defence technologies.
