During the event, President Murmu highlighted the centuries-old commercial, cultural, and people-to-people ties between India and Singapore. President Murmu noted that Singapore's remarkable progress since its independence serves as an example for other developing nations.
Both leaders jointly unveiled a commemorative logo to mark the 60th anniversary of India-Singapore diplomatic relations. The special logo designed for the 60th anniversary includes elements from both India’s and Singapore’s national symbols, such as the lotus and orchid, along with the colours of both nations’ flags.
The number '60' prominently featured in the logo emphasises the significant milestone in the two countries' bilateral history. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President Tharman on the same day to discuss ways to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Singapore.
The two leaders focused on cooperation in sectors such as semiconductors, digitalisation, skilling, and connectivity. India and Singapore have expanded their collaboration in areas like advanced manufacturing, healthcare, digitisation, sustainability, and education over the years.

Singapore continues to play a vital role in India’s Act East Policy and its Indo-Pacific strategy. To celebrate the enduring relationship, a series of commemorative events will be held throughout 2025, marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
