The Chhattisgarh Election Commission had announced that the elections would be conducted in three phases on February 17, 20, and 23, with results declared on February 18, 21, and 24. In the recently concluded civic body elections, the BJP secured a landslide victory, winning all ten mayoral posts in municipal corporations.

The party also won the chairperson’s position in 35 municipal councils and 81 Nagar Panchayats, consolidating its dominance in the state. Union Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda congratulated Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and party workers on the historic win.
Nadda stated that the victory reflects the people’s trust in the public welfare and tribal-friendly initiatives implemented under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. In a message on social media platform X, Nadda commended the "double-engine government" for its governance and development initiatives in Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hailed the results, calling it a "historic day" for the BJP and the state government. Sai asserted that the Congress had been completely wiped out in the civic elections, failing to secure a single seat.

Elections were held for 173 urban bodies, comprising 10 municipal corporations, 49 municipal councils, and 114 Nagar Panchayats on February 11. The results mark a significant political shift in Chhattisgarh, reinforcing BJP’s influence ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections.
