On March 19, the United States carried out airstrikes targeting Houthi positions in Yemen`s capital, Sanaa, in retaliation for recent attacks on shipping vessels in the Red Sea. As per the reports, the strikes primarily hit the Al-Jarraf district, located near Sanaa`s airport. U.S. Central Command released a video showing fighter jets launching from an aircraft carrier at an undisclosed location, confirming the continuation of operations against the Houthi group. The airstrikes follow a series of escalating tensions, including an announcement from former President Donald Trump on March 15. Trump declared a "decisive and powerful" military response to the Houthis, accusing the group of engaging in piracy, violence, and terrorism directed at U.S. interests. Trump posted on Truth Social, "I have ordered the U.S. Military to launch decisive and powerful action against the Houthi terrorists in Yemen."
