On March 15, President Donald Trump ordered military strikes against Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi rebels after they attacked American vessels. The airstrikes, which hit the Houthi-controlled city of Saada, caused significant destruction, with buildings destroyed and many people injured. According to the Houthi-run health ministry, at least 31 people were killed in the attack. Trump issued a stern warning on Truth Social, saying, "Houthi attack on American vessels will not be tolerated." He also threatened that "hell will rain down" if the Houthis continue their attacks on Red Sea shipping. Trump also urged Iran, which backs the Houthis, to stop supporting the group immediately. In response, Iran`s Revolutionary Guard commander stated that the Houthis are independent and capable of making their own decisions. This strike marks the largest US military action in the Middle East since Trump took office. Additionally, the US has recently increased sanctions on Tehran in an effort to push Iran to negotiate over its nuclear program.
