A Ukrainian drone attack targeted the Kirishi refinery in Russia’s Leningrad region, damaging a fuel tank. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is working with the US and European allies to “accelerate peace and strengthen security”.
Zelenskyy revealed ongoing discussions with former US President Donald Trump’s team regarding potential pathways to peace. Trump claimed negotiations with Russia would be “easier” than with Ukraine but said he was “strongly considering” sanctions against Moscow.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio ahead of planned negotiations in Saudi Arabia. Zelenskyy is expected to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday to discuss the ongoing war and possible resolutions.

Ukrainian officials will engage in further negotiations with US representatives in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The upcoming diplomatic meetings follow a tense public exchange between Zelenskyy and Trump in late February.
