Mumbai Indians were an inspired team yesterday. There was a spring in their stride during their clash with Royal Challengers Bangalore. The superstitious souls in the team felt that the change in Mumbai Indians' fortunes was due to the presence of their co-owner Nita Ambani, who made an emergency trip to be with the team.

To lift the spirits of her demoralised players after three straight defeats, Nita cut short her stay in Mumbai and dashed off for South Africa to be in time for yesterday's game.

Before the match, Nita met the players along with the coach and support staff to motivate them. She asked them not to lose hope and to go out and play without any pressure or fear.

"I am happy (at the win). If you win there is euphoria but in our team it's about trying your level best and whatever the result, win or loss, you have to accept that gracefully," said Nita.

When asked whether she was feeling the pressure sitting in the dug out, she said: "There was no tension, the players were explaining to me what was happening and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

"I was to leave for Mumbai tonight as my children's exams are going on. But the team has requested me to stay on. I will speak to my children and then decide."
