In a 2016 test match between India and England at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India's stylish wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul missed his well-deserved double ton by just one run. Opening the inning with Parthiv Patel, KL went on to score 199 runs in 311 deliveries against the English bowlers. The Indian batter lost his wicket on Adil Rashid's slow, loopy delivery. His innings included 16 fours and 3 sixes

Australia's unorthodox batsman Steve Smith missed his test double century against West Indies. In 2015 in a test match between the Aussies and the Caribbeans in Sabina Park, Jamaica, Smith came to bat at number three for his side. He hammered the host team's bowlers for 21 fours and 2 sixes.
