Varma's match-winning innings propelled India to a thrilling two-wicket victory and secured a commanding 2-0 lead in the five-match series. In a dazzling display of skill and composure, he surpassed Virat Kohli’s India record and the world record for the most T20I runs scored without being dismissed

With a remarkable tally of 318 runs, the young left-hander now stands in a league of his own. Tilak also eclipsed Kohli’s record for the most runs by an Indian batter across four consecutive T20I innings.

Tilak's incredible streak of 318 unbeaten runs outshines Kohli’s 258, as well as previous bests by Sanju Samson (257), Rohit Sharma (253), and Shikhar Dhawan (252).

Entering the match with scores of 19*, 120*, and 107* in his last three T20I innings, Tilak once again proved his mettle on the big stage. Facing a challenging situation at Chepauk, he showcased immense maturity and grit, constructing a masterful 72 off 55 deliveries

Tilak's innings was the linchpin in India’s successful chase and reaffirmed his status as one of the brightest prospects in Indian cricket

Tilak’s extraordinary consistency and resilience have set a new benchmark in T20 cricket. With his unbeaten streak still intact, the 20-year-old has emerged as a vital cog in the Indian lineup, demonstrating an ability to deliver under pressure and anchor crucial chases with aplomb
