Pawar, seeded 11th, notched up a 21-13, 21-13 win over Germany's Dieter Domke but he failed to get across top seed Hans-Kristian Vittinghus of Denmark, suffering a 21-12, 10-21, 13-21 loss to the Dane in the quarter-finals.
