WWE champion Drew McIntyre opened Raw by addressing Randy Orton's attack on Hall of Famer and record 16-time champion Ric Flair as 'pure evil' saying he brutalized the veteran. Drew McIntyre vowed to bring vengeance to Summerslam in his match against Randy Orton for the WWE title.

'Showstopper' and 'Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels made his return to the WWE ring after months to address Randy Orton's brutal actions as well as some word of advice for Drew McIntyre. Michaels told Orton that he would get whats coming to him at Summerslam and frowned upon his attack on legend Ric Flair

However, Shawn Michaels would turn out to be the latest of Randy Orton's victims as before he left the ring, Orton appeared and hit him with an RKO only before he viciously attacked him with a Punt Kick.

Drew McIntyre then rushed to the ring to aid Shawn Michaels but would be at the receiving end of another RKO from Randy Orton out of nowhere!

The Raw women's champion Sasha Banks and SmackDown women's champion Bayley appeared on the show bragging about their matches vs Asuka ahead of Summerslam. Asuka and Shayna Baszler then entered and joined forces against Bayley and Banks. Despite interruptions from Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler fought her way back to rejoin the match. In the end Asuka had Sashan in the Asuka lock while Baszler locked Bayley in the Kirufuda clutch to pick up the win.

Ruby Riott could not do much as she was taken out in what can be called a rather short match against Peyton Royce thanks to the latter's tag team partner Billie Kay's shove. Post match, Riott and Liv Morgan had some tension brewing between them.

Rey Mysterio made his return to Raw after weeks and warned Seth Rollins that he would be supporting his son Dominik in his corner against Rollins for their Street Fight match at Summerslam. Rollins showed up on the video board blaming all of it on Mysterio. After Rollins and Murphy returned to the ring, Rey Mysterio and son Dominik attacked them with Kendo Sticks and got the much needed revenge.

Apollo Crews first faced the Hurt Business in a war of words ahead of his match against Shelton Benjamin. Crews also stated that if he won, Benjamin and Bobby Lashley would be barred from ringside in his match vs MVP at Summerslam. Thanks to a distraction provided by R-Truth in his escape from ninjas, Crews managed to pin Benjamin and take home a victory. Following this Benjamin kicked R-Truth and pinned him to become the new 24/7 champion.

Angel Garza and Ivar were battling it out for affection from Bachelor in Paradise star Demi Burnett. Ivar was in control and heading for a victory but distraction provided by Zelina Vega at ringside helped Garza land a dropkick on Ivar to win the match.

In June 2019, Mickie James suffered an ACL injury during a live event and was out of action since then. Today on WWE Raw, Mickie James returned to the WWE ring in a match with Natalya. However, this did not become the glorious return for Mickie as she lost to Natalya.

Montez Ford returned to the ring in grand fashion after he managed to pull out all stops including diving from the apron, moonsaults and major dives to pick up a win against Andrade in their singels match.
