The 1983 World Cup-winning captain Shri. Kapil Dev is known as one of the greatest all-rounders in cricket. Later when he retired from cricket, Dev joined the Territorial Army in 2008 and was ranked as lieutenant colonel by the Indian army

Sachin Tendulkar

India's legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar needs no introduction. He is the only batsman in cricket history to score 100 centuries across all three formats of the game. In 2010, Tendulkar was honoured as group captain of the Indian Air Force. He became the first-ever sportsperson to get bestowed the honorary without an aviation background

Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Former India captain MS Dhoni is known for leading the side to multiple wins. He was awarded as the lieutenant colonel of the Indian Territorial Army after clinching the ICC World Cup 2011 title. He also served in the army and was posted to Jammu and Kashmir in 2019

Abhinav Bindra

Abhinav Bindra scripted history by clinching a gold medal in a 10m air rifle shooting event. For his achievements, Bindra was named as lieutenant colonel by the Indian Territorial Army in the year 2011

Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore

India's first individual silver Olympic medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was awarded the Sword of Honor for the best all-round Gentleman Cadet. He also fought in the Kargil War and was later promoted from lieutenant to major on December 15, 2000
