The Story Behind House of Soundarya, a Luxury Skincare Brand Led by Monisha Gururani
Monisha Gururani Founder, House of Soundarya
Monisha Gururani still vividly remembers the first time she held her son under the open sky. The golden sunlight bathed his soft skin, and in that fleeting moment, she wished she could protect his innocence forever. Having spent years as an international newborn photographer, traveling across the world, Monisha was deeply moved by the purity and fragility of childhood. She captured the delicate glow of newborns, the sacred beauty of their skin, and the way time seemed to stand still in those moments.
Her wake-up call came when she moved back to India to support her 14-year-old son, a passionate golfer, in pursuing his dream of becoming an international athlete. While she encouraged his ambition, she couldn’t ignore the harsh toll the sun took on his skin after hours of practice. Sunburns, dryness, irritation , despite using conventional sunscreens, his skin suffered. When Monisha examined the labels, she was shocked to discover synthetic chemicals and toxins, many of which were banned in international markets. Ayurveda teaches that your skin is your second mouth-absorbing everything you put on it. She realized these harmful ingredients weren’t just damaging his skin; they could impact his long-term health.
As a mother devoted to celebrating purity, Monisha couldn’t stand by. Determined to find a truly safe and nourishing sunscreen, she searched for a better solution. But after months of research, she realized there was no product on the market that was both effective and free of harmful chemicals. And so, she took matters into her own hands-creating the perfect skincare herself.
The Birth of House of Soundarya
Guided by her deep love for her family and inspired by the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, Monisha began formulating her own skincare products. She studied time-honored, natural ingredients known for their protective, healing, and nourishing properties. Each ingredient was carefully chosen-not just for its beauty benefits, but for its holistic ability to restore and shield the skin naturally.
And so, House of Soundarya was born-a skincare brand built on purity, protection, and the healing power of nature. Her first formula, a Fragrance-Free Sunscreen, became the cornerstone of the brand and remains its flagship product.
The Hero Ingredients of House of Soundarya’s Sunscreen

This unique combination delivers SPF 50+ and PA++++-providing superior sun protection while deeply nourishing, soothing, and repairing the skin. A skincare essential designed for safety, efficacy, and holistic well-being .
Beyond Skincare: A Legacy of Giving Back
Monisha’s journey wasn’t just about creating effective skincare-it was about making a difference. With her vast global experience as a model, actor, and air hostess, she understood that true beauty isn’t just skin-deep; it’s about lifting others up, empowering them, and creating meaningful change.
This belief led her to establish Pushp Ahaan, an NGO under House of Soundarya. It’s mission? To provide quality education to underprivileged children, giving them the opportunity to shape a brighter future. Through this initiative, Monisha nurtures not just skin-but dreams, proving that real beauty lies in kindness, compassion, and empowerment.
The Movement Begins
Today, House of Soundarya is more than just a skincare brand-it’s a movement. A call to embrace beauty that is natural, safe, and rooted in tradition. It’s a testament to a mother’s love, a child’s innocence, and the right to skincare that truly cares.
And it all started with a mother watching over her son in the golden sunlight, wishing she could do better for him.
Through House of Soundarya, Monisha has created not just a skincare legacy, but a platform for change-a commitment to making the world better, one product at a time. Because to her, skincare isn’t just about beauty; it’s about love, protection, and making a lasting impact.
# Because beauty should be as pure as the love that inspires it.
