Whispers in the industry suggest that the makers of 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' have zeroed in on a fresh-faced actress to play the cricketer's late ex-girlfriend. We hear it is model-turned-actress Disha Patani, awaiting a Bollywood break after losing out on at least two big-ticket projects earlier this year, who has made the cut.

Disha has been linked to Tiger Shroff and was supposed to play his leading lady in 'Baaghi'. The role eventually went to Shraddha Kapoor.

A source working on the Dhoni biopic says, "The long hunt for another lead actress came to an end after Disha auditioned for it. We were looking for someone relatively new to the industry and she fits the bill."

Sushant Singh Rajput will be seen as the protagonist in the Neeraj Pandey-directed film, while Kiara Advani, who debuted with 'Fugly' last year, will essay the character of Dhoni's wife, Sakshi.

While Pandey and the film's spokesperson remained unavailable for comment, another source says, "We are not allowed to reveal details about the role, but like everyone knows, Dhoni's life story wouldn't have been what it is without the influence of his ex-girlfriend, who is now no more. So, it will be an interesting part to watch out for."
