It’s been about 48 hours since the horrific Pahalgam terror attack took place, claiming the lives of over 46 tourists. Since this horrific attack, the cry to ban Fawad Khan's Abir Gulaal's release in India has been growing louder, and now reports have come in that the movie will actually not be released in the country. Government sources have claimed that they will not let the movie release in the country. As per Hindustan Times, sources said, "The movie Abir Gulaal, starring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, will not be allowed to release in India." Action will be taken against the makers (if they release the film).” Fawad Khan on the horrific attack Fawad Khan posted on his official Instagram stories, "Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. 24 April,2025 06:05 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentAs a part of a menstrual hygiene initiative, actress Nimrat Kaur distributed menstrual hygiene kits in the slum communities. Each menstrual care kit distributed contains supplies that last an entire month — including sanitary napkins, disposal pouches, and hygiene essentials — along with educational materials promoting safe menstrual practices. Speaking about her involvement, Nimrat shared, “Menstruation is a necessary, natural, and crucial part of any woman’s health. Yet it continues to be shrouded in silence and stigma, especially in the underprivileged areas. When Hemkunt Foundation approached me with their “Dhabba Nahi” campaign, I felt an urgent and deep sense of responsibility to be a part of it. Affordability and access to menstrual products should not be a luxury - it’s a fundamental right. I hope this effort not only helps dispel this ridiculous taboo around something so basic to life but also ensures normalising conversations around periods, so no girl ever has to feel shame or miss school because of her period and no adult woman should ever feel awkward about anything related to periods.” Meanwhile, on the occasion of World Earth Day on Tuesday, Nimrat witnessed the vibrant Buransh flower blossom in the scenic Kumaon region for the very first time. Reflecting on her deep connection with the wild, Nimrit revealed that she celebrated her birthday amidst nature in the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. Dropping a string of photos and videos from her latest vacay, the actress penned the caption, “My love for the wild isn’t from this lifetime, it surely feels like something that’s lived inside me from a time unknown to me. To have finally witnessed the magical Buransh (rhododendron) blossoms in Kumaon for the first time was beyond words. The mountains have a way of stirring up the deepest conversations in my heart with their tall, stoic silence.” “Cradled in the lap of the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary at the stunning @ninefurlongs property for birthday holiday, waking up to the Himalayan glory everyday, the warmth and hospitality of the sweetest, simple hill folk, enveloped in the goodness of their forests, food and folklore. Grateful today and everyday to Mother Earth for blessing us with her infinite bounty…on World Earth Day, sharing some glimpses of my recent Kumaoni dream,” (sic) Nimrat went on. 24 April,2025 02:16 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentActress Bhagyashree has strongly responded to a social media user who questioned Pakistan’s involvement in the recent Pahalgam terror attack. The ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ actress didn’t hold back as she called out the comment, emphasizing the need to stand united against terrorism rather than dilute accountability with speculative narratives. Bhagyashree hits back at netizen over Pahalgam comment Bhagyashree took to her Instagram stories and shared the screenshot of a post from X where the user suggested Pakistan had “nothing to gain” from the incident and accused India of using the attack to justify repression in Kashmir. Responding to the person, Bhagyashree did not mince words. “Who is this brainless idiot, and how dare he!” she wrote, slamming the user’s justification. Bhagyashree added, “Kashmir was flourishing after a long time in the history of Kashmir, the locals were actually happy they were living in peace, making money, people were venturing outside without fear, and they felt as safe as Indians anywhere else do. They need to feel this again. Kill those bastards that shook up that peace.” The user’s comment read, “The Pahalgam attack raises more questions than answers. Pakistan stands to gain nothing-militarily, territorially, diplomatically, or strategically—from such an act. The victims were unarmed civilians, not military targets which rules out any tactical benefit, instead this incident directly supports India’s long-standing narrative against Pakistan and gives Delhi fresh justification to escalate repression in Kashmir under the guise of counterterrorism.” About the Pahalgam terror attack A terror attack occurred at the Pahalgam hill station in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday. 24 April,2025 10:29 AM IST | Mumbai | IANSTwo weeks ago, Pratik Gandhi was at the same point where he is today, on the cusp of a movie’s release. Unfortunately, Phule—a biopic on Mahatma Jyotirao Phule—didn’t hit the theatres then as some sections of the Brahmin community opposed the film, believing it showed them in poor light. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) demanded certain changes, too. Today, as the Ananth Mahadevan-directed venture lines up for an April 25 release, the leading man says the resistance didn’t surprise him. “Given the sensitive nature of the subject and the current climate, I wasn’t entirely surprised by the possibility of some form of reaction,” he smiles sardonically, before adding, “When you’re dealing with historical figures and social issues that are still relevant and sometimes contentious, different perspectives are bound to arise. Our intention was never to create unnecessary controversy, but to tell an honest and factual story. We approached it with a sense of responsibility.” Pratik Gandhi with Patralekhaa in the film Phule, also starring Patralekhaa, chronicles how the 19th century social reformer and his wife Savitribai Phule fought against the rampant casteism and championed women’s education. Gandhi admits that the deferral of its April 11 release disappointed him. “We were aiming to coincide it with Jyotirao Phule’s 197th birth anniversary. That was a way to honour his legacy. So, the postponement, due to a combination of certification changes and the initial reactions, was a setback. However, my primary concern was always that the film’s message should reach people effectively.” Even as two centuries separate the social reformer and us, the actor believes that his ideas depicted in the film have “immense” relevance today. “While the film is set in the 19th century, the core issues it addresses—caste discrimination, the fight for equal rights, and the importance of education—are still very much alive in our society. Phule’s emphasis on reason, questioning social norms, and striving for a more egalitarian society continues to be relevant in a world divided by prejudice and misinformation,” he states. As we continue to fight different forms of social ills, is there a social reform he’d like to see today? “The eradication of all forms of discrimination, whether based on caste, religion, gender, or any other social marker,” Gandhi says, in a heartbeat. “We’ve made progress, but the subtle and sometimes blatant ways in which discrimination still operates in our society is concerning. I believe in fostering an equitable society, where every individual is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background.” April 11The date when Phule was to initially hit the theatres Changes in the tale The makers complied with the CBFC’s changes and removed the terms, Mahar, Mang and Peshwai. The board also objected to a scene that depicted a Dalit man carrying a pot to collect spit. In another sequence, the line, ‘Teen hazar saal se chal raha anyay’ was changed to ‘Kai saal se chal raha anyay’.

According to reports, it’s a film that revolves around two strong-headed army men played by Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, with their characters in a “tug-of-war” for their love interest, played by Alia Bhatt. We have heard that the director has already shot some confrontation sequences between Ranbir and Vicky and is mighty impressed with the output. The film is being shot in Mumbai and is expected to hit the theatres on March 20 next year. Earlier, it was reported that Bhansali's favourite collaborator Deepika Padukone will be making a cameo appearance. However, latest report suggests that the Padmaavat actress will not be a part of the film. On the other hand, it is reported that social media sensation Orry aka Orhan Awatramani will be making a special appearance in the film.
