Two for the road
I had a great time putting this exhibition together. I visited many American National Parks like the Grand Canyon, the Oregon National Park, Mount Rushmore, to name a few, with my 13-year-old granddaughter over a period of one month. She ended up taking more pictures than I did! By the end of it, she had some 1500 pictures in her camera and we had a good time bonding over photography.
Desi connection
Having lived in the United States since the last 51 years, I consider myself a transplant American from India. Jokes apart, I look at India from the eyes of a travelling photographer who is appreciative of her beauty. I usually shoot landscapes, though my next exhibition is going to be on the women of Kutch. I was there some time back and I shot two very beautiful women who became the inspiration for my upcoming series. But I believe in striking a rapport with my subjects. I will be leaving for Kutch on March 31 and will take copies of the pictures that I have shot for my subjects.
Hot shots
Photography has always been my passion, ever since I was 11. I would steal my dad's camera when he wasn't in town and force my mom to pay for my black and white rolls. When I grew older, I left to study photography in the US and have never looked back. I've been able to travel to some of the most beautiful places in the world, Costa Rica being my favourite, and Kutch being a close second.
