TV? Abhi nahin boli Janhvi

Mithun Chakraborty, who features in the promos of the upcoming small screen show, Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei, was not exactly the first choice. The makers were keen to rope in Janhvi Kapoor (and pay her a bomb) as it is a mother-daughter relationship saga. She did not evince interest as she does not want to do television at this stage of her career, nor did the show’s concept appeal to her. Dad Boney Kapoor was also of the same opinion. As dance is also integral to the drama, the makers then turned to Govinda, who is known for his dancing prowess, but he turned down the offer. It was then decided to approach the disco king to grab eyeballs. Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei features Patiala Babes actor Paridhi Sharma in the lead role. The small screen is increasingly turning to veteran stars for their promos. Rekha was part of the Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyar Meiin campaign and also features in the promos of the upcoming Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 15.

Secret revealed

Ajay Devgn

In a bid to arouse curiosity, Ajay Devgn provided a glimpse of the set from his upcoming project and preferred to keep details under wraps. He posted a picture, in which he could be seen posing in a dimly lit frame, and wrote, “In the shadows, on set.” Sidharth Malhotra let the cat out of the bag by replying, “I know this set.” Devgn and Malhotra are part of Indra Kumar’s Thank God. So it’s safe to assume that Devgn has started shooting for the comic caper.

Defamation plea

Manoj Bajpayee is in no mood to take things lying down. He is taking Kamaal Rashid Khan, better known as KRK, to court, like Salman Khan did earlier. Bajpayee has filed a criminal defamation complaint against the trade analyst and critic in an Indore court for posting derogatory tweets about him and wife Shabana Raza, and tarnishing his image. The actor’s lawyer Paresh S Joshi said the actor personally appeared before the court to record his statement. KRK posted the controversial comments in July and later deleted them.
