Subhash Ghai on 'Karz' remake: ' It does not excite me to...'

Celebrated filmmaker Subhash Ghai has made it amply clear that he has no interest in remaking his iconic blockbuster 'Karz', starring late Rishi Kapoor. However, during a recent interaction with IANS, Ghai was asked if he would be interested in a good script on the subject of reincarnation. To this, Ghai replied, "Once I have made a film on a particular genre. It does not excite me to do the same. I always look forward to going ahead for new genres." As 'Karz' recently completed 45 years in the Hindi cinema, Ghai stated that the film remains as fresh as ever. Adding that he would not remake it, the filmmaker told IANS, "Karz’ has always been returning to me year on year through young kids, youth in general, and young filmmakers because of its musical narrative, story plot, and performances. It is still a prime film in our library of 42 films in Mukta arts. It's always as new as today.” He remembered how back in 1980 after the release of the drama many people had told him that ‘Karz’ was “way ahead of its time”. “But I am grateful to see it still amongst the favorite films in 2025," Ghai said. When asked if he would like to remake the 1980 film, Ghai answered, “I wouldn't remake it.” Shedding light on the impact of music on a film, Ghai stated, “Well, the story I told was of reincarnation, using the sound and scale in such a way that would work with each generation. Audiences are smart, you can't fool them." Agreeing that music played a pivotal role in 'Karz', the director added, "Great music gives a good film its longest life. So credit goes to its music, lyrics, and presentation on screen so it would always work." This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. Anupam Kher on directing 'Tanvi The Great': 'Koi studio ke paas nahin gaya...'

'Marathon man' Anupam Kher is set to return to the director's chair with his upcoming film, 'Tanvi The Great'. The actor recently spoke to ANI about the challenges he faced while making the film and shared that he did not approach any "studios or financiers" for funding. Instead, he relied on his "own conviction" to make the film.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Anupam Kher (@anupampkher) "Main koi studio ke paas nahin gaya paise lene, maine koi financer nahin dhunda. Jo bhi logon ne film finance ki hai shuruat mein... dheere dheere aapko yeh kahaniyan pata lagenge. (I did not go to any studio to ask for funds, I did not look for any financier. Whoever has financed the film in the beginning... gradually, you will get to know these stories). It hasn't been an easy task. But because the theme is about resilience, struggle, and courage, I had to show that same courage as a producer and director," Kher told ANI. "When I say it wasn't easy, it actually wasn't easy. It would have been easier for me to go to someone and say that I want to make this film...I didn't want to do that. I wanted to make the film based on my own conviction. I will tell you later what the film is about." Meanwhile, 'Tanvi The Great' will feature music composed by MM Keeravani, the acclaimed Oscar-winning composer known for his work on RRR. The Padmaavat actor revealed that she expected her co-star to act sensibly, but to her dismay, he went overboard and almost touched her inappropriately.  Co-star got excited during intimate scene In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Anupriya was asked if any actor tried to take advantage of her, to which she replied, “I wouldn’t say that the person was taking advantage of me; rather, an excitement took over. I could see that he was getting excited, which is not the way it should be. Then you feel a little violated and uncomfortable. These incidents happened during kissing scenes. In another instance, I was wearing clothes that weren’t comfortable. I had expected that he, as a man, would know that holding a woman by her waist is easier in such scenes. But he almost put his hands on my b**t, which wasn’t required. He could have put his hands on my waist. I felt it was not right.” Anupriya maintained that she couldn’t call out the actor over the incident but urged him to avoid repeating his act. She also revealed that it was her first boyfriend who helped her out.  Anjali Anand recalls getting sexually abused by dance teacher In a conversation wit Hauterrfly, Anjali recalled her childhood episode where her dance teacher under the pretense of being a father figure misbehaved with her. She said that it happened right after her father had passed away. "I didn't know what to do. I was eight, just after my dad passed. He told me, ‘I am your dad,’ and I believed him because I didn't know any better. Then he started very slowly—he gave me a peck on my lips and said, ‘It is what dads do.’" she recalled.  Abuse went on till age 14 Anjali said that this went on for years and she did not know better back then.  She shared how the teacher would control different aspects of her life and keep an eye on people she would talk to. He used to keep tabs on my itemised billing—he knew what messages I was sending. He caught me talking to this guy. He used to wait outside my school to pick me up. And everybody was like, ‘Why is he always there?’ But nobody even tried to see why." Anjali revealed that this behaviour went on till she was 14. Sikandar leak: Kajal Aggarwal’s suicide attempt included in pirated version

The excitement surrounding Salman Khan’s action thriller Sikandar, which dropped in cinemas early Sunday morning, was short-lived. Within hours, the film was struck with piracy issues. Multiple illegal platforms, including Telegram groups, allegedly leaked the movie online, offering illicit downloads and streaming links. The latest reports suggest that it was an insider job since the pirated version includes scenes that did not make it to the final cut.  Sikandar pirated version different from theatrical release  According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, some of the scenes in the pirated version are of Salman learning about Rashmika Mandanna wanting to become a lawyer after her death, medical students informing him about Dharavi pollution, Sathyaraj learning about the three individuals who received Rashmika’s organs and their whereabouts, and Kajal Aggarwal attempting suicide. It also does not include Iulia Vantur singing Lag Ja Gale or Salman singing Ajeeb Dastaan.  The insider told the entertainment portal, “This means that the leak could be an insider job and that it probably happened after the film was passed by the CBFC.” Prior knowledge about the leak Ravi Desai, who heads the Salman Khan Fan Club on X, told Mid-day that a sign was there in the days leading up to the release. “On March 26, a handle had posted an unseen image from the film and claimed that they will release the film’s prints. Later, that account vanished. On Saturday at 11.30 pm, a print was released from another X handle. It was first available on HDM [a website for torrent downloads], and from there, it came to X. By 12 am, it was everywhere,” he recalled. While promoting Sikandar, Salman Khan opened up about various aspects, including controversies. While speaking to ANI, Salman was asked if controversies have become a trend with every film release. Responding to this, the actor said, "Arey nahin chahiye bhai humko koi controversy. Bohot saare controversies se guzar chuke hain hum. Humko nahin chahiye koi controversy." About Salman Khan’s Sikandar The film is directed by AR Murugadoss, renowned for his Tamil and Hindi blockbusters like Ghajini and Thuppakki. Sajid Nadiadwala has produced the project, marking Salman Khan's reunion with him after their 2014 blockbuster, Kick. The film also stars Prateik Patil, Sathyaraj, Jatin Sarna, and Sharman Joshi among others.

It’s like him, you know.” Even at 89, Dharmendra remains one of the most beloved actors and has a loyal fan base. Elaborating on the admiration his father continues to receive, Bobby said, “It’s just the way my dad has been.
