Taylor Swift reacts to Beyonce being named the greatest pop star of the century

After Beyonce was named the greatest pop star of the 21st century by Billboard, singer and songwriter Taylor Swift showed her support and happiness for the pop icon, reported Page Six. "Taylor will always support strong female artists and thinks Beyonce is so deserving of this honour," as per the sources cited by the publication Swift knows that her fans are upset with the fact that she was not given the top honour and is the runner-up, but she is fine with it. "Taylor appreciates all the fan support she's received but she knows Beyonce is a legend in the music industry and Taylor's honoured to have landed in the number two spot next to her," according to the sources. "Taylor is proud of what she's accomplished regardless of what spot she holds." Last week, Billboard reported that the staff ranked Swift as the second-best pop star of the twenty-first century. "While Taylor Swift is the century's biggest pop star by the numbers, Beyonce tops our staff-chosen editorial list based on her full 25 years of influence, impact, evolution," Billboard explained of their decision. Swift and Beyonce have a long history of supporting one another. Their friendship began in 2009 when the 32-time Grammy winner invited 19-year-old Swift back onto the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards after Kanye West stormed the stage and protested Swift's best female video win for "You Belong with Me." Since then, the pair have been public supporters of each other, such as when the "Red" singer claimed she loved Beyonce "more than the normal amount" in 2015. Swift released her Eras Tour concert film in October, while Beyonce debuted her "RENAISSANCE: A Film By Beyonce" the following month, reported Page Six. 'Sorry, we're late': Maroon 5 finally performs in Mumbai, makes a fan's day

On Tuesday evening, fans grooved to their favourite numbers by the American pop rock band Maroon 5. The concert, held at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, started a little later than 8pm. Singer and record producer Zaeden opened the act, followed by DJ Mailbox. Maroon 5’s frontman Adam Levine, on vocals, Jesse Carmichael on keyboard, James Valentine on guitar, Matt Flynn on drums, PJ Morton on keyboard, and Sam Farrar on bass kept the evening energetic and entertaining.   Maroon 5 apologises to Mumbai Maroon 5 began their maiden concert in India with Animals, One More Night, and an apology. “How’re you doing, Mumbai? Sorry we’re late. I know you guys have been our fans for a long time," said frontman Adam Levine. "We've been a band for a long time, we've been around the world, but we've never been here before. But we made it, and that's what's important. We're here today! We appreciate your love and support for the last 20 years. I promise, tonight, we'll do the best show we can, alright?" Maroon 5 made their concert all about the fans who had been waiting for the band to finally come to India. "As a band we have one rule - we as Maroon 5 we encourage and love it when fans sing with us. Will you guys sing with us tonight?" The next song was definitely a sing-along - Stereo Hearts, their 2011 chart-topping collab with Gym Class Heroes. They followed it up with Harder, Lucky Strike and Sunday Morning. The stage came alive with dazzling visual spectacle, complementing Maroon 5's masterful storytelling through music. Levine commanded the stage with his trademark charisma, effortlessly navigating from the falsettos of Payphone to the sultry charm of What Lovers Do, the infectious energy of Makes Me Wonder, the enchanting tones of I Wanna Be Your Lover, the raw intensity of Heavy and the anthemic beats of Maps. Between songs, Levine paused to connect with the audience, expressing his awe at the warmth and energy of the Indian crowd.   Adam makes a tearful fan's day Mid-concert, Adam called a fan up on stage. Named Suman, the fan was in tears as she handed him a bouquet and said, "My whole life has been about your songs." In return, Adam sang a few lines of 'She Will Be Loved' for her.  Another heartfelt moment arrived as Levine introduced ‘Memories’, dedicating it to those we hold close yet far away. Phone lights swayed across the crowd like stars, creating an ethereal atmosphere that lingered long after the song ended. With BookMyShow Live orchestrating this extraordinary debut, fans holding banners and chanting lyrics created an electrifying atmosphere. Spotted cheering amongst the crowds were Aakash Ambani, Shloka Ambani, Radhika Ambani, Shaan and Kayan.

Tom Cruise to star in Doug Liman's supernatural thriller 'Deeper'

Filmmaker Doug Liman has confirmed that Tom Cruise will star in his upcoming supernatural thriller 'Deeper', which is currently in early development. The announcement was made by Liman during a recent screening of the documentary Gaucho Gaucho in New York City, where he shared his enthusiasm for creating a "scary" film, a genre he has yet to explore in his career, according to Deadline. "I have never done one," Liman said, expressing his excitement about venturing into the horror-thriller space, adding, "And neither has Tom." 'Deeper' is set to follow an astronaut who encounters a terrifying force during a deep dive into an unexplored trench in the ocean. The project, which has been in development for nearly a decade, was originally pitched to MGM in 2016 after the studio acquired a script from screenwriter Max Landis. Several attempts to bring the film to life had previously failed, with Bradley Cooper initially attached to star and Kornel Mundruczo set to direct. Other iterations saw Idris Elba and Baltasar Kormakur involved, but none materialized, according to Deadline. While the project has faced numerous hurdles, sources have confirmed to Deadline that 'Deeper' is now set up at Warner Bros. It remains unclear if this will be Liman's next project, though the director has expressed his enthusiasm for finally bringing the film to the screen. For Cruise, the film will mark his third or fourth collaboration with Doug Liman, following their successful partnership on 'Edge of Tomorrow' and 'American Made'. According to Deadline, the two are also working together on a NASA-themed film to be shot in outer space, in collaboration with SpaceX, although details remain under wraps. In addition to 'Deeper', Cruise is currently in talks for a sequel to his 1990 NASCAR drama 'Days of Thunder', which will be produced by Paramount Pictures. Following the success of 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning', Cruise will soon begin filming for a new project directed by Alejandro G. Inarritu, under Warner Bros and Legendary, although details on that film have also been kept under wraps. This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. Kate Winslet on playing WWII photographer Lee Miller on screen

Actor Kate Winslet talked about her latest project 'Lee' and playing the role of a WWII photographer Lee Miller, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Oh, honestly, it's a whole bunch of mind...," she said, adding, "I mean, it is, even to this day. Like anything, going for a job interview, it's absolutely terrifying. If it's a job you really want, doubly terrifying." Despite her Oscar win for 2008's 'The Reader' she sometimes feels like she isn't worthy of a role. "So what?" she said. "When I was doing 'Lee', I would sit there and I would say, 'This is ridiculous.... I can truly think of at least five other brilliant actresses who would have played this part much better than me. Like a lot better.' And often I will turn to another crewmember and I'll say, 'They just read the wrong name off the list. I'm telling you, they didn't mean for me to be here.'" Winslet, who also produced her latest picture, investigated archives with the help of Miller's son to play World War II photographer Lee Miller. She also engaged a historian to create an exact copy of Miller's camera, which she used to take photographs during her performance. "It couldn't just be a prop," she said. "It needed to feel like an extension of my arms. I had to be confident and comfortable with it. And in order to do that, I had to know what I was doing." "Miller was a fashion model who turned to photography. During WWII, she served as a war correspondent for Vogue and took the photos of the first recorded use of napalm as well some of the first images of the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps at Buchenwald and Dachau. She also was photographed sitting in Adolf Hitler's bathtub in his private apartment in Munich the day he committed suicide in Berlin. Winslet said it wasn't easy to get backers on board initially," as per The Hollywood Reporter. "There was one potential investor who said to me, 'Why should I like this woman?' I mean, she's drunk, she's, you know, she's like loud. She, I mean, he just probably stopped short of saying she has wrinkles on her face," she said. Winslet added, "It's hard to make films about historical female figures. You know, typically, those aren't films that would necessarily do well in the box office," she said. The actress stated that she does not mind breaching Hollywood rules onstage after being criticised for her weight early in her career, but she is troubled by the double standards for men. "People say, 'Oh, you were so brave for this role. You didn't wear any makeup,'" she said. "You know, 'You had wrinkles.' Do we say to the men, 'Oh, you were so brave for this role. You grew a beard?' No. We don't.... it's not brave. It's playing the part." Set against the backdrop of Lee Miller recounting her wartime experiences in 1977 to a young journalist, portrayed by Josh O'Connor, through flashbacks, the film promises to delve deep into Miller's indomitable spirit and enduring legacy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
