'Karate Kid: Legends' trailer shows return of Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan

The much-loved Karate Kid franchise is set to return with a new movie, 'Karate Kid: Legends.' Sony has released the official trailer for 'Karate Kid: Legends', which brings back Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso from the original Karate Kid movies and Jackie Chan as Mr Han from the 2010 reboot starring Jaden Smith, reported Deadline.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Karate Kid: Legends (@karatekidmovie) The trailer was released on Tuesday, a day after Macchio and actor Ben Wang made an appearance at CinemaCon to promote the film. The movie takes place three years after the last season of Cobra Kai. It follows a young kung fu fighter, Li Fong (played by Wang), who moves from Beijing to New York City with his mother after a family tragedy. Struggling to adjust, Li Fong faces challenges at school and gets into fights, even though he tries to avoid trouble. When a friend needs his help, Li decides to enter a karate competition. But his kung fu skills alone are not enough. To prepare, his teacher, Mr. Han (Chan), seeks help from Daniel LaRusso (Macchio). Together, they train Li, combining karate and kung fu to create a powerful new style. Directed by Jonathan Entwistle, Karate Kid: Legends features a screenplay by Rob Lieber. The movie is produced by Karen Rosenfelt, with Ralph Macchio also serving as an executive producer. The cast includes Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, Ming-Na Wen, and Aramis Knight. The trailer ends with Daniel LaRusso telling Li Fong: "Remember what you're fighting for. When you understand that, you will be ready." The first trailer for Karate Kid: Legends was released in October last year. The original Karate Kid (1984) revolved around the story of Daniel LaRusso, played by Ralph George Macchio, a teenager who moves to Los Angeles and learns karate from Mr. Miyagi to stand up against bullies. The 2010 remake starred Jaden Smith as Dre Parker, who moves to China and is trained by Mr. Han, played by Jackie Chan. This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. David Fincher and Brad Pitt

Fincher, Pitt team up for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 2

David Fincher is directing a sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), with Quentin Tarantino writing the follow-up to his Oscar-winning epic. The project does not have an official title as yet, and is being set up at Netflix, where Fincher has a first-look deal. Brad Pitt will reprise his role as stuntman and potential wife-killer Cliff Booth. As per reports, it’s a unique production, not only because a high-profile director is helming a sequel to another high-profile director’s film, but also because of the property’s shift from a theatrical studio to a streamer.  Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was released by Sony Pictures, but Tarantino negotiated a deal that would return him ownership of the film’s underlying copyright after a number of years. Since this follow-up is being set up under Fincher’s first-look deal at Netflix, that likely indicates that sequel rights may already be privately retained by Tarantino. The project comes together after Tarantino scrapped plans for what would’ve been his tenth feature, The Movie Critic.  A script had been written and Pitt had been cast in the lead role. The story was said to take place in the ’70s and follow a film critic who wrote for an adult magazine. This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. Hailey has responded to all the chatter around her recent social media activity, reports ‘People’ magazine. Her husband Justin Bieber's Instagram account got deactivated (then reactivated) after going live on the app, and in the wake of that, Hailey appeared to unfollow the singer from her own profile. Tom Holland's next Spider-Man film titled 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'

The fourth Spider-man film starring Tom Holland and Zendaya has got a new title. The film that will be released next summer has been named 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'. The announcement and production timeline was laid out by director Destin Daniel Cretton at CinemaCon. The team will start filming this summer. Tom Holland could not be a part of the annual convention for movie theatre owners that took place in Las Vegas. However, the actor sent across a video message talking about the upcoming Spider-Man film.            View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Spider-Man (@spidermanmovie) Tom Holland says no to spoilers The video began with Holland apologising for not being there in person. “I am so sorry I can’t be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie,” he said. He is presumably shooting for Christopher Nolan’s 'The Odyssey' with Matt Damon, Zendaya and Anne Hathaway. “I know we left you with a massive clip hanger at the end of ‘No Way Home,’ so ‘Spider Man: Brand New Day’ is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.” “That’s all I’ve been allowed to say,” Holland said. “And I’m well over the hump of giving away spoilers, so don’t be worried. I’m not going to do that today," he said jokingly owing to his reputation of giving out spoilers.  In the 2021 installment of Spider-man titled 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', the film ends with Peter Parker, having accidentally broken open the multiverse, making the difficult decision to erase his identity from the world. Destin Daniel Cretton on Spider-man: Brand New Day Cretton didn’t confirm any of the casting for “Brand New Day.” He did, however, hype up his creative counterparts who are bringing Spidey’s story back to the big screen, reports variety.com. “I really wish I could introduce you to our entire team who are working their bloods off for this. They are incredible, and you will see their amazing work when ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ hits your theaters.” Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, who play Peter Parker’s besties MJ and Ned, are expected to return for the fourth part. Plot details on the fourth installment, which swings into theaters on July 31, 2026, haven’t been revealed. “I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world,” Cretton hinted adding, “We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.” (with inputs from IANS)
